Honoring the Many Beautiful Faces of Motherhood

As Mother’s Day approaches, I find myself reflecting on the beautiful variety of women who carry the title of “Mom” in so many unique and special ways. Whether you’re a Mother, Step-Mother (like me), Grandmother, Favorite Aunts, or a cherished mother-figure, your role is deeply meaningful.

Grandmothers especially come with a flair all their own—whether you're called Nana (my personal favorite), Grammy, Big Mama, or something else entirely, the names are as joyful and creative as the love behind them.

This time of year always brings me back to memories of my own Mom (and Dad). Living in Virginia, we were each other's lifeline. I’d give anything to have them here with me today. Their love and presence shaped every part of who I am. And now, I carry their legacy forward—creating memories with my daughters, Emily and Ashley, and watching them become incredible mothers to my grandchildren, Jameson and Dakota.

It fills my heart to see how the love and traditions of past generations continue to bloom through them. They’re not only nurturing their children, but also honoring the memories and lessons passed down from their Mom, Grandmothers, and yes—even those Favorite Aunts who’ve made an everlasting impact.

Don’t ever miss an opportunity to spend time with your Mother—or any of the women who’ve helped raise, love, and guide you. Tell them how much you love and appreciate all they have done for you—no regrets.

To all of you celebrating today, take the time to embrace every moment—whether it’s laughter, quiet time, or shared stories. These are the memories that will be treasured for generations.
